What happened overnight

Houston police investigated three separate shootings that unfolded within hours of each other Saturday night into early Sunday, February 1, 2026, sending multiple people to area hospitals. Authorities said the incidents were not connected, but each involved disputes that escalated into gunfire in public spaces.

The most serious shooting occurred in northeast Houston as a large crowd gathered near Homestead Road for a trail ride-related event and nearby block-party activity. Two additional shootings were reported later in residential and commercial areas in the city’s east and southeast corridors.

Homestead Road: six shot during crowd dispersal; one later died

Police said officers were already in the 11300 block of Homestead Road around 8 p.m. Saturday because a large gathering had formed at a strip center. As officers worked to disperse the crowd, an altercation broke out and gunfire erupted. Six people were shot and transported to hospitals, some by emergency crews and others by private vehicle.

By Sunday morning, police confirmed that one of the six victims had died. The victims included teenagers and young adults. At least two people were initially reported in critical condition, including a 15-year-old. Investigators indicated the size of the crowd complicated efforts to quickly determine the number of shooters involved and identify suspects.

Eastwood Street: shooting follows argument; victim hospitalized in stable condition

Just after midnight, officers responded to the 6700 block of Eastwood Street after reports of a shooting. Police said a man and a woman were arguing on the street when another vehicle pulled up, multiple people got out, and one person opened fire. The man who was shot was taken to a hospital and was reported in stable condition.

Investigators said the people involved appeared to know one another and worked overnight to identify and locate the occupants of the vehicle.

Telephone Road: two shot in strip-center parking lot

Not long after the Eastwood Street incident, police were called to the 10500 block of Telephone Road. Officers said a group of young people argued in the parking lot of a strip center where a club operates, and shots were fired.

A 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were shot and transported to hospitals. Police reported both were in stable condition.

What investigators are seeking

  • Witness accounts and cellphone video from the Homestead Road area, where hundreds of people were reported nearby.
  • Information identifying the vehicle and individuals involved in the Eastwood Street shooting.
  • Details on the dispute and participants connected to the Telephone Road parking-lot shooting.

Police said the three cases remain under investigation and urged anyone with information to contact authorities or Crime Stoppers.

No suspects or charges were announced publicly in connection with the three shootings as of Sunday.
